Emergency Advice

It is sometimes difficult to decide whether to call 999 for an Ambulance. You should do this in a critical or life-threatening situation, for example if someone:-

  • is unconscious
  • is bleeding heavily
  • has suspected broken bones
  • has a deep wound – such as a stab wound
  • has difficulty in breathing
  • has severe chest pains or a suspected heart attack

In the event of needing to speak to a GP in an emergency, please telephone 01443 225 244 day and night. During working hours your call will be answered by a receptionist. From 6:30pm – 8:00am Monday to Friday and from 6:30pm Friday to 8:00am Monday we are covered by the NHS Out of Hours Service, please ring 111. Please note that attendance at the Out of Hours treatment centres is by invitation only.

In the event of a life threatening emergency, such as severe chest pain, extreme shortness of breath, collapse or heavy blood loss please telephone 999 for an ambulance.

Please note that responsibility for providing GP services out of normal working hours now lies with Cwm Taff Morgannwg Local Health Board/Wales Ambulance Trust and not with the surgery. In the event of any query about this service please contact them on 01443 774800. More information regarding the Health Board can be accessed via their website
