Your doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional may need to carry out an examination as part of your consultation.
If an examination is required, you are entitled to have a chaperone present. A chaperone is a trained member of staff who can provide practical assistance and support during the examination.
You may request a chaperone for any consultation, examination, or procedure. Wherever possible, we will provide a chaperone of the gender you prefer.
If you would like a chaperone to be present, please inform the clinician or a member of the reception team.
Our healthcare professionals may also request a chaperone to be present during certain examinations in accordance with practice policy.
If a suitable chaperone is not immediately available, your appointment may need to be rearranged.
Please speak to a member of staff if you would like further information about our chaperone policy.
