If you have a query regarding your prescription please telephone on 01443 236517 and your prescription query will be dealt with as quickly as possible. An answerphone may be in operation and messages are collected daily but messages left after 12 midday are sometimes not listened to until the following day.
Under the instructions of the GP Partners we will no longer be taking requests over the telephone and are now asking for 72 hours for all prescription requests, this will include the requests that come via your nominated Chemist.
We are a fully computerised surgery and, for your safety all routine prescriptions are produced on our computer.
We require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice (more if you enclose a stamped addressed envelope for us to post it to you) so you should get the request to the surgery at least five days before you run out. Please avoid running out of medication and then having to request medication urgently. Please ensure you clearly mark the required medication. To avoid errors occurring, we do not accept requests over the telephone for prescriptions. All requests must be in writing either to your nominated chemist or handed into the surgery.
We review your medication on a regular basis. The date of your next review will be situated at the bottom of the repeat request slip. A medication review will enable us to make sure that you are taking what you need. It is also an opportunity to review your medical condition(s). If you have an appointment with a doctor and you know that your medication needs to be reviewed soon, please discuss this with the doctor involved. This may avoid you having to make another appointment simply for a medication review. It is not always necessary for you to have an appointment with a doctor for your mediation to be reviewed, if there are no problems with your medication then a doctor may review your medication without you being present.
A list of local chemists is available below, for all these chemists we operate a system where you can hand your repeat slip into the chemist when your prescription is due for renewal, the chemist will then pass your request onto us to issue the prescription and the medication will be available in the chemist 48 hours after you place the request. Please note that the 72 hour window is during the working week and DOES NOT include weekends and bank holidays.
