To date (23/03/2021) we have vaccinated 2,706 patients in the Practice with at least one dose of the COVID19 vaccine. A number of our patients have also been vaccinated at one of the health board run centres so, when these doses are also taken into account, we can confirm that 49% of our adult population have received at least one dose of COVID19 vaccine.
This weekend we are running a “Super Saturday” where patients who received their first dose from the Practice in January will be attending for their second dose of the vaccine. We will be vaccinating approximately 450 patients on this day and will have clinics running in both Pontyclun and Llanharry. We would like to thank the members of the Practice team who have made themselves available for this clinic.
We are receiving a lot of telephone calls asking “when will I be having my second dose”. Patients who attended the surgery for their first dose will be invited by letter to attend for their second dose after approximately 11 weeks as per information leaflet handed out at first appointment. The exact timing of this will be dependent on the supply of vaccine from the health board and the availability of our staff to run these clinics.
We have now invited in all patients who were on our initial Group 6 list from Public Health Wales for their first vaccination. However, additional patients have been added to this group (some by Public Health or Health Board) and we are currently in the process of scheduling appointments for these patients.
