PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US, our telephone lines are busy dealing with day to day queries. LETTERS WILL BE SENT TO ELIGIBLE PATIENTS IN DUE COURSE.
We have been advised by our Local Health Board that we will now be vaccinating priority groups 5 & 6 (group 5 patients aged 65-69) (group 6 patients aged 18-64 and in an “at risk” category, similar to the flu vaccination programme and those who are identified as being a primary carer).
We have approximately 2,000 patients who will fall into these groups. The number of vaccine appointments we are able to offer each week will depend on the number of doses we receive and this does vary week by week. All eligible patients will be sent a letter with a date and time to attend an appointment in Llanharry Surgery. Given the volume of patients we need to vaccinate in each clinic, using Pontyclun Surgery is not an option as we are unable to operate a one way system whilst other services are running.
Please make every effort to attend your allocated appointment as we do not want to waste any vaccine. If the date and time is not suitable for you please contact us and we will add you to a waiting list and you will be contacted with an alternative appointment at a later date.
Appointments will be offered to all patients in Group 5 first starting with the oldest i.e. 69 years and working our way down to those aged 65. Once these patients have been contacted we will then start contacting the patients aged 18-64 who are in an “at risk” group/primary carer and once again we will invite by age, starting at age 64. Please refer to PHW/JVIC guidelines for further information on priority groups.
Our aim is to offer all eligible patients an appointment before the end of March 2021. With this in mind some of our routine services may be reduced.
