Please do not contact us to book a flu vaccination. Our supplies are not due until the end of September/beginning of October 2020 and we will not be offering appointments until we have the vaccines in the building (this is to avoid us having to cancel any appointments, should the vaccine delivery is delayed).
At present we will only be offering vaccines to our Over 65 year old patients and our under 65 year old patients at risks. Please note that we have already ordered our Flu vaccinations ready for this season and if the guidance changes we may need to source additional vaccines, but this cannot be guaranteed.
We have been advised that the following cohort of patients will be eligible for a flu vaccine: Household contact of anyone on the NHS Shielding Patient List and the vaccine should be given at the same time as the shielded patient.
An additional cohort of patients aged 50 – 64 are to be called in on a phased basis as advised when additional stock becomes available in November/December and not before. More information will be provided to the Practice nearer the time.
Children nasal flu sprays – supply is provided by the health board. We will be asked to vaccinate the 2-3 year olds not in a local council run nursery and offer a nasal spray to our Under 18’s at risk. We have not been advised on when we will receive supplies (we received our supply in December last year). If the school is providing this service, please ensure your child receives their nasal spray in school as a nasal spray will have been ordered for them.
Pneumonia Vaccines and Shingles vaccines will be available for eligible patients
There is NO CORONAVIRUS vaccine being offered by the Surgery
